Good News: LVTC Students Won the First Prize in the 2022 Belt & Road and BRICS Skills Development & Technology Innovation Competition

From News Center (Text by Zhou Bing, School of Finance and Logistics Management, Photo by Pan Ni and Zhou Jing, School of Finance and Logistics Management) October 30, 2022, sponsored by the Chinese Chapter of the BRICS Business Council, the International Alliance of Skills Development (IASDBR), Belt & Road and BRICS Skills Development and Technology Innovation Training Center, co-sponsored by the China Association of Innovation and China Center for International People-to-People Exchange Ministry of Education (MOE), and organized by the China Section of BRICS Business Council Skills Development Working Group, The 2022 Belt & Road and BRICS Skills Development & Technology Innovation Competition-Smart Accounting Competition (Colleges Group) Finals was successfully concluded. A total of 240 contestants from 60 teams nationwide participated in the competition. Due to the epidemic, the competition was conducted online.

School of Finance and Logistics Management of LVTC sent a team consisting of four students, namely Xiong Qingqing enrolled in 2020 from Accounting Class 1, Huang Jiajie enrolled in 2020 from Accounting Class 3, Huang Cuilian enrolled in 2020 from Financial Management Class 3, and Chen Mingyue enrolled in 2020 from Financial Management Class 5, to participate in the competition under the guidance of Zhou Jing. After 7.5 hours of fierce competition, the LVTC team won the first prize in the finals with excellent professional skills and good psychological qualities, took on the challenge calmly and played well, and finally won the first prize of the final, ranking fourth in China.

The competition is divided into two parts: Finance Management Skills Competition and Finance Big Data Technology Application Competition. In the Finance Management Skills Competition, four contestants cooperated with each other to complete all production and operation decision-making activities of an enterprise from the establishment, operation, and accounting to financial analysis and tax declaration within 6.5 hours. In the Finance Big Data Technology Application Competition, four contestants independently used big data technology to complete the whole process of corporate big data analysis including data capture, data cleaning, data mining, data analysis and data visualization in corporate financial work scenario within one hour. This competition fully assessed students' big data technology application, decision-making, innovation and teamwork ability, stimulating their enthusiasm for learning and practice.

The excellent results in this competition are attributed to the strong support from the college leaders, the cooperation of teachers in the accounting team, the careful guidance of the instructors and the hard training of the students. It demonstrated the excellent professional skills and outstanding teamwork of the students in LVTC, showed the teaching achievements of the School of Finance and Logistics Management, and highlighted the characteristics of talent training and education quality in LVTC.
