LVTC organized the China-Indonesia TVET Innovative Development Forum on Industry-Education Integration

From News Center (Text by Zuo Yingzi from Office of International Exchange; Photo by Media Convergence Center) From September 15 to 16, 2023, the 2023 China-ASEAN Vocational Education Exhibition and Forum sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region was held in Nanning. The "China-Indonesia TVET Innovative Development Forum on Industry-Education Integration" undertaken by LVTC was held at the same time as one of the parallel forums.

The following guests attended the forum:  Ahmad Saufi, Director of Vocational and Higher Education Department of the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs of Indonesia; Yu Yunfeng, Secretary-General and An Yan, Deputy Secretary-General of China Education Association for International Exchange; Sun Guoyou, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Education of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region; Zheng Limei, Secretary-General of the National Steering Committee on Mechanical Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET); Wang Yi, Executive Deputy Director and Secretary-General of China-ASEAN Vocational Education Research Center; Wu Yindeng, Senior Director of Human Resources of LiuGong Machinery Co., Ltd., Liu Zilin, Secretary of LVTC Party Committee, and Gan Jinming, President of LVTC. More than 130 representatives from 67 vocational colleges at home and abroad and 17 representatives from 9 enterprises attended the conference offline, while representatives from 49 public polytechnic institutes and community colleges in Indonesia participated online.

The forum is sponsored by the Department of Education of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and undertaken by LVTC, LiuGong Machinery Indonesia Co., Ltd. and Shaanxi Polytechnic Institute. With the theme of "China-Indonesia TVET Innovative Development on Industry-Education Integration", the forum carried out in-depth exchanges and discussions on China-Indonesia school-enterprise cooperation on TVET, development on industry-education integration and other aspects. On the forum, "China-Indonesia TVET Industry-Education Alliance" was officially established by LVTC, LiuGong Machinery Indonesia Co., Ltd. and enterprises and vocational colleges in China and Indonesia. Eight colleges and universities in China and Indonesia formally signed agreements at the establishment ceremony of the Alliance, marking the official launch of pragmatic cooperation under the guidance of relevant departments of both countries.

It is reported that China-Indonesia TVET Industry-Education Alliance was co-sponsored by LVTC, LiuGong Machinery Indonesia Co., Ltd. and Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya. 61 vocational colleges in China, 49 public polytechnic institutes and community colleges in Indonesia and 18 enterprises joined the Alliance. The Alliance will strengthen teacher-student exchanges, facilitate the co-construction and sharing of standards, courses and resources between the two countries, mutual recognition of credits and academic qualifications, and promote people-to-people bonds through overseas cooperation in running schools with colleges and universities in Indonesia.

During the forum, Liuzhou Vocational and Technical College Vocational Education Cross-border Research Institute released Research on the Integrated Development of Construction Machinery Industry and Internationalization of TVET Education (ASEAN Edition).

In recent years, LVTC has taken the initiative to serve the Belt and Road Initiative and the comprehensive strategy of China-ASEAN countries. With regional leading enterprises "going global", it has carried out order training for localized technical talents in ASEAN countries such as Thailand and Indonesia, which has strongly supported enterprises' overseas development. Holding this forum and taking the lead in establishing the Alliance are important explorations for LVTC to respond to the development needs of Chinese enterprises in Indonesia, actively integrate resources, build a platform, and further expand talent cultivation and technical services for enterprises to "go global". In the future, LVTC will work with alliance members to actively broaden communication channels for industry-education integration, promote the benign interaction between industry and education, realizing complementary advantages. We will also commit to promoting the common development of TVET in both countries, supporting Indonesian enterprises and Chinese enterprises develop in Indonesia, as well as empowering the high-quality economic development of both countries.
